I am committed that beauty be present for my clients every day. I truly love what I do, and I am grateful to be able to employ my professional background in Arts Administration; Talent Management; Hospitality and Music to meet the challenges of each job I undertake. The dichotomy between the joie de vivre of New York City and the peacefulness of the Hudson Valley nourishes me, and I make my home in both environments with joy.
Leighanne commenced with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Oberlin College and Conservatory. Her post-graduate studies have included an executive seminar in Arts Leadership with the Arts and Business Council of NY; a course in Entrepreneurship with Kaplan Institute, and a year-long practicum in Team Management and Leadership with Landmark Education. After spending time studying bookmaking (SACI Firenze) and Photography (O'Keefe's Ghost Ranch, NM); Music Healing (Omega Institute) and traveling extensively in Europe and the US, she moved to NYC where she graduated to professional singing with frightening alacrity. As a professional chorister / cater-waiter / personal assistant / babysitter she sang behind the American Symphony Orchestra, NY Philharmonic and Paul McCartney at Lincoln Center, Bard SummerScape Festival and Carnegie Hall among others.
Leighanne simultaneously learned the business of music through her positions at management agency Grassy Hill Entertainment (International Folk Alliance Conference, SXSW), and Columbia Artist Management. During this time she also became deeply involved in the Long Island City folk music scene. After leaving NYC for an 18 month stint assistant-managing a high-end Bed and Breakfast (Olde Rhinebeck Inn) she returned to the city to learn ukulele, write, perform and record her own songs; co-organize and perform in numerous classical concerts; study information science; and refine her practice of radical homemaking.
Since 2014 Leighanne has consulted as a Housekeeping Team Lead (onefinestay); a Rental Contract Manager (Octagon Apartments); Special Events Associate (Americas Society); Cataloguer (Carnegie Hall Digital Archives Project); home stylist, child photographer, product photographer and front-end web designer; worked for a florist and a christmas tree farm, and continues to sing at churches throughout the city. She is currently creating beautiful, efficient, intuitive homes in both Rhinebeck, NY and Manhattan; writing a semi-staged, fully costumed musical show featuring interpolated songs from 1892-1927, and singing with Trinity Wall Street's Downtown Voices.
